POLAROID WEEK!


Last week brought some very sad news for the photography scene - Polaroid are shutting down production on their range of instant films. If you didn't already, read the article about it here - [link] and sign the petition to show your support for another company (most likely FUJI) to take over production of Polaroid film here - [link]


We believe that the Polaroid format produces beautiful pictures, with a unique character that can only be found with this type of film. So this week, we have decided to show our support by only submitting genuine Polaroids.


This means no computer generated images, all you need is your trusty Polaroid camera and a scanner!


Polaroid Week will run from Monday 18th February until Sunday 24th. Please follow the regular submission guidelines, which can be found below. We look forward to receiving your Polaroids




INDIE PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB 100

This week we would like to try and create something very special with the help of our members. We want to show off the talent and diversity here at the Indie Photography Club, and try to get the club more attention from a wider audience!


The idea is to create an image to showcase our members' work, that is composed of 100 small images (one from each member) in a 10 x 10 square grid. This image would be posted in our gallery and would be our featured deviation, as a sort of mini overview of the club.


In the likely case you don't have a clue what we're talking about, the image created would be something similar to these examples we found:




To help spread the word about the club, we would like our members to post a journal entry for their own visitors to read, posting a link/icon to our page and saying why you are a member of the club and what you like about it! The first 100 people to post such a journal and then send us a note with the subject "100" will be featured in the large image we are creating!


In your note please include a thumbnail of the deviation you wish to submit, which must be uploaded to your gallery and must be in SQUARE FORMAT ONLY! You can crop, resize etc your existing images, as long as the final image is square. Also please do not add a border, as we will add one to all the images to keep it consistent.


Please please please ensure your deviation is submitted in this format, or as you can imagine it would be a much more complicated task putting the final image together! Also please ensure you note it titled "100" and nothing else, to make sorting through the notes easier for us.


The deviation can be anything you like that you think fits with the style of the club!
